Valhalla resident Lisa McGuinn continues to move up the leaderboard of Northeast CrossFit in Hawthorne, one of the affiliates hosting the global five-week Olympic Weightlifting competition known as the CrossFit Open.

During the CrossFit Open, thousands of athletes participate in various weightlifting events as well as high-intensity endurance workouts. Lisa, a mother of three, is ranked no. 115 in the world, which qualifies her to move up to the next level of competition and compare her skills with the best of the best.

Lisa credits much of her success to the daily workout and “watchful eye” of her coach, Chris Shkreli, who is also the General Manager of Northeast.

Lisa and her family describe Northeast as a “community” where “everyone is accepted, everyone is friendly, it’s just a great place to get and stay healthy while also making awesome friendships.”
